With these cold fronts passing through, so are the Redfish. Fishing the main channels in the marshes of the Rigolets and Biloxi Marsh, where outflows meet, have been the most productive.  Reds have been hitting plastics fishing them about two feet under a cork, and also jigging the bottom with a slow retrieve.  Don’t forget about the infamous live cocahoe minnow.  Natures natural winter bait.

Still catching a few trout in the mix.  Not big limits of trout, but they are definitely nice size trout.

Also, something to keep in mind, water temperatures are down, and so are the water levels, so know your tide ranges as you don’t want to be slamming the reds, have the tide fall out on you with out realizing it, and end up on a flat.

Launching from Lake Catherine Island Marina is quick access to both areas. Get your drinks, snacks, lunch, fuel, and bait while you’re there.  Your one stop fish shop.
